Wii U Virtual Console coming next week

Super Mario World on Wii U GamePad

Nintendo has confirmed that the full Wii U Virtual Console will be released the day after next week's system update is available. As with the 30 cent classics, all VC titles will support Off-TV Play, save states, and Miiverse support to enhance the experience. While the company hasn't revealed the full list of games that will be available, they have released a short video which shows a number of favorites running on the GamePad, including Balloon Flight, Donkey Kong 2, Super Mario Bros. 2, F-Zero, Mario Bros., Kirby's Adventure, Ice Climbers, Super Mario World, Punch-Out!!, Mega Man, and more. It should also be noted that Iwata himself has announced that the critically acclaimed EarthBound will be available on the service in North America and Europe, but he did not reveal when it will be released.

You can watch the trailer after the break.
