EA tested Frostbite 2 on Wii U, wasn't pleased with results

New Star Wars games may skip Nintendo's console

Yesterday, Disney and EA confirmed that they have entered a publishing agreement which will allow EA to create video games based on Star Wars. Now it looks like Nintendo fans will not be getting in on the action. EA DICE's Johan Andersson announced via Twitter that their Frostbite 3 engine will be used to create new titles in the sci-fi franchise. Another Twitter user suggested this meant that none of the future games will come to the Wii U due to the fact that DICE has already confirmed the engine will not support the Big N's new console.

EA released Madden NFL 13 on the Wii U at launch, and Need for Speed: Most Wanted U back in March. However, it appears they have been scaling back support as they have confirmed that some of their future games, including this year's entry in the Madden series, will not be coming to the system. Given the latest news, it seems quite likely that those who only own Nintendo's latest console will see much Star Wars action, if any.
